As a person and an accomplished artist, Lynne Zickerman radiates spiritualism and optimism. Her show depicts subjects from nature and the redwood coast environment in over 20 new impressionistic and realistic works in acrylic, oil, and watercolor. As a group, the art reflects interwoven influences from the beauty of the Mendocino coast, Buddhist teachings, and personal experiences. Specific works are dedicated to the memory of Lynne’s husband Dan Olsen and their shared appreciation of beauty in their surroundings. Lynne’s art background includes advanced degrees in art education and painting (University of Minnesota and UC Berkeley), and over 35 years of teaching art at the elementary, junior high, high school, and adult levels. Besides her life as a resident on the coast, she is inspired by her love of music, food, extensive travel in Europe and SouthEast Asia, and all things beautiful.
