Event: Marta Alonso Canillar Featured Artist First Friday Show Opening
Where: Edgewater Gallery, 356 N. Main St., Fort Bragg, CA

Marta will do a presentation about herself and her art at 6pm. Admission is free. Light refreshments served.

In her own words:
I was born in Spain but have made my home in California since 1990. In 2014, I took my first oil painting lessons from Cynda Valle in Willits, and that was when I knew I had found myself. Cynda has given me the technical knowledge as well as the mentorship to allow for my creativity and confidence to flow unrestrained.

Early on, I was commissioned to do a large scale painting at Mariposa Market followed by a commission to do another large-scale representational painting of the kitchen garden at the newly built hospital in Willits. Recently I have been commissioned by the city of Fort Bragg to do large scale murals.

In early 2018, one of my three paintings took Best-in Show at the Mendocino Art Center. This recognition has given me the right of passage to show my work publicly. So, here I am at Edgewater Gallery! I hope you enjoy my work.
