SPACE presents A Place of Tomorrow, The Prophet Through Dance & Song, directed by Amanda Rosenberg-Gutierrez features over 30 teen and adult performers and will be presented March 30 and April 6, 3pm and 7pm at SPACE Theater in Ukiah.
The performance begins with teens chatting about their homework assignment which is to read The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran, a Lebanese-American writer whose thought provoking book was published in 1921.
In A Place of Tomorrow, The Prophet Through Dance & Song the teens explore Gibran’s writings through fusion, hip-hop, contemporary dance and song. This captivating performance with special guest artists will both inspire and educate on one of the greatest books and writers of all times. The soundtrack for the show is The Georges Lammam Ensemble along with contemporary middle eastern hip hop beats.
Performers include Higher Ground Dance Troupe & Apprentices, Fusion Dance Company, Breath A Cappella Singers, Mendocino College Dancers and Special Guests!
