Renowned for representational seascapes in acrylic, David L Cross presents new works in marine art at the Artists’ Co-op of Mendocino Feb 6 through March 4, Kasten x Albion Sts in Mendocino.
David L. Cross, is the February Featured Artist at the Artists’ Coop of Mendocino. Renowned for his realistic depictions of the ocean, he is fascinated by its moods and motions along our coast. He wants the viewer to feel that they have seen this “Spacific Ocean” in this location, and not somewhere else. He paints in acrylics on canvas or panels using layouts and imagery from sketchbooks filled over the course of many years. David developed as an artist in Chico, earning a BA in Fine Art at Cal State University Chico in 1972. He has shown in many Central and Northern California galleries including, since 1977, the Mendocino area. His work is in many private collections. He joined the Coop in 1997 and served as President for 8 years. He rejoined when the Coop moved to its present location on Kasten x Albion Streets.
David’s show “SPACIFIC OCEAN” can be seen Feb 6 through March 4th. The gallery is open daily 10:30 – 5. You are invited to the Second Saturday reception Feb 9, 5-8pm, with the Artist’s Talk at 5:30.
