Howard Wheatley Allen & Rosemary Allen Exhibition

Presented by Mendocino Art Center at Mendocino Art Center

Internationally renowned sculptor Howard Wheatley Allen’s bronze birds, featured in his book, “Howard Wheatley Allen: Sculptor to Emperors, Presidents and Kings,” will be exhibited in the Main Gallery. Wheatley has achieved international acclaim for his bronze bird sculptures. His work, chosen for its strength, grace and symbolic content, has found its way into public, private, and corporate collections around the world, and been chosen by world leaders to commemorate important events. Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton are among those who have presented Wheatley’s sculptures as gifts to heads of state. Ray and Donna Worster donated the collection to the Mendocino Art Center. Wheatley’s sculptural works will be accompanied by Rosemary Allen’s paintings, both her California abstracts and her “California Worker” series. Rosemary has had several solo exhibitions in the Bay Area and northern California and has participated in numerous group shows.
