A Classical Afternoon

A Classical Afternoon

Presented by Willits Center for the Arts at Willits Center for the Arts

Willits Center for the Arts will present A Classical Afternoon on Sunday, July 15 at 2 pm.  This will be a fundraiser for WCA and features Wei Wei Rapoport singing selections from her favorite operas, and Scott Pratt playing pieces from composers as diverse as Gershwin and Poulenc.
Wei Wei was born and raised in China during Chairman Mao’s Cultural Revolution.  Singing with her mother during those difficult times helped her survive.  She later studied at the Sichuan Music Conservatory in China.  Wei Wei first came to Willits in 1992 to take voice lessons with Nadine Patton who then lived in Rocktree Valley.  She worked with Nadine for nine years and it was during this period that she made many friends in Willits.
Scott was born and raised in Escondido, California, where he grew up listening to his mother both playing and teaching the piano to her students. Scott completed his undergraduate studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and went on to get his Master of Music Degree from the Manhatten School of Music.  He has been playing concerts and teaching piano in the Bay Area for over twenty-five years.
Wei Wei, Scott and WCA look forward to bringing you this unique collaboration of classical music on July 15 and hope you will join them. Tickets are $12 at the door, wine and snacks will be available.
