The poets laureate of Ukiah will read from the anthology of work from Ukiah’s first seven poets laureate, recently published by Slow Mountain Press.
“The poets laureate of Ukiah…stand in a tradition that is both ancient and local. They embody the civic sense that poetry is still our most memorable and expressive way of using words to describe our existence. Their office signifies that the literature still matters to both citizens and the commonwealth.”
–from the preface by Dana Gioia
