The Willits Community Theatre will hold extended auditions for Steve Martin’s wild and crazy comedy “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” on Friday May 26, beginning at 7 P.M.

The auditions will take place at the Willits Community Theatre Playhouse, 37 West Van Lane, in Willits. “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” is Steve Martin’s hilarious rumination on what might have happened had world-historical revolutionary artist Pablo Picasso met world-historical revolutionary physicist Albert Einstein, in a small Parisian café in 1904. The play is both a semi-serious rumination on the nature of genius and creativity, and a spoof of those ruminations.
The call is for 2 men, 20 to 30 and 2 women, 20 to 40. The special casting need for this show is for at least two dynamic young male actors to play Albert Einstein and painter Pablo Picasso. The show rehearses in July and August and runs in Willits from September 8 through Sept. 24.
