Being a museum docent isn’t hard—it’s not nearly as big a challenge as some suspect. The time we need you for is less than you might think. Only a few hours a month. And it’s fun!

A docent is a Friendly Presence, a lot like being a good host in your own home. Docents greet everyone who comes through the museum’s front door.  They ask visitors if they’re new to the area or locals, and invite them to sign the Guest Book. Now and then they even sell postcards or a book which helps bolster our operations revenue.

It’s where anyone can learn about our town, our region, and what went into forming and keeping this community thriving. There is something here for everyone. You don’t need to be a historian or “history nerd.” We will train you.
