Classes/Workshops

Website: http://artexplorers.org

 Fort Bragg, CA, 95437

Over the course of this three-Sunday workshop, we will explore approaches to layout and design that give you the freedom to best express your particular images. We will also carve in wood for this session.

You can focus your approach on directly transferred images or steer away from the drawing with a more expressive “cut and proof” technique. We will have visits from guest linocut artists from Art Explorers who will discuss their individual linocut techniques and experiences.

You will develop confidence with cutting tools and learn hand-printing techniques. We will be working in both monochrome and color reduction cut techniques. All supplies will be provided—just bring in a few images that you’d like to work with (maximum size 14’’x 19”) and a lunch or lunch money. Returning students welcome. Beginning to advanced. This is a satisfying, inexpensive, and non-toxic art form to take with you to your home studio.

When: November 10, 17, and 24 from 10 to 3.

Where: Art Explorers, 333 N.Franklin St., Fort Bragg, CA

Cost: $150 per student for three day Session (all materials included)
