Mendocino’s John Chamberlain would have turned 80 this year

MENDOCINO — SnapSessions! will be releasing its September episode as a tribute to Mendocino’s storied artist and musician John Chamberlain, who would have turned 80 this September.

“Chamberlain’s artwork was all over the Mendocino Coast from soon after his arrival ’til his passing in 2013, and still survives in many signs across our area,” said co-host, Doug Nunn.

Musician and artist John Chamberlain arrived in Mendocino in the late 1960s. His posters, signs and musical contributions to numerous bands were a huge influence on North Coast culture. He would have turned 80 in September and local podcast SnapSessions! will celebrate him with a tribute.

SnapSessions! discusses Chamberlain’s work with Cat Mother, Horse Badorties, The Mark Levine Review and other groups, as well as other reminisces. The tribute will encapsulate reflections and laughs from friends who knew Chamberlain. The episode includes excerpts from some of Chamberlin’s musical performances, such as Cat Mother’s “Love Until Your Heart Breaks,” Horse Badorties’s “Jump,” The Mark Levine Revue’s “Navarro by the Sea,” and many more.

The tribute will be available at www.thesnapsessions.com.

SnapSessions!’s web page will include links to Chamberlain’s art and his musical adventures with Cat Mother, Horse Badorties, The Mark Levine Revue, Hit and Run Theater’s ORCH, Lenny Laks and others.
