Mendocino County poet Karen Lewis has a new collection of poetry, Peace Maps, just released from Finishing Line Press.

Peace Maps explores real and imaginary landscapes at the crossroads of ecology and disaster. The poet’s personal journeys through love, loss, motherhood, and solitude intersect with images of war, peace, and places in-between. Each poem is mapped to particular GPS coordinates for those who want to venture beyond the limits of a printed book. Some locations include: Chernobyl, Tunis, Baghdad, California’s Sierra Nevada, Oaxaca, Zuma Beach, Sonoma County, Washington, D.C., Honduras, Beirut, and Vietnam.

The public is invited to a virtual book launch at Gallery Bookshop in Mendocino on Sunday, Oct. 25, 3 p.m. Pacific time. This free event is suitable for all ages.
