Phoenix Trent: A lifelong activist and arts advocate, Phoenix is a nonprofit professional with experience in the public sector, private sector, and philanthropy. After founding HATCH Workshop, a center for emerging artists and makers in Stockton, Phoenix moved to Mendocino County to launch a development consulting business that is helping to grow local nonprofit organizations.

Phoenix shared his reasons for joining the Arts Council board: “The arts have the potential to bring new life to our region, drive sustainable economic development and position our county as a cultural hub in Northern California. I’m grateful to live and work in this wonderful community and I’m excited about this opportunity to get involved and help the Arts Council of Mendocino County to continue to grow our arts economy and build a thriving and interconnected region.”

Alyssum Wier, Executive Director of the Arts Council, responded: “Phoenix is a powerful and enthusiastic arts advocate and fundraiser. The experiences he brings to the Arts Council will be a great asset for Mendocino County. I’m grateful to Leadership Mendocino for the introduction to Phoenix and for all that they do to create connections between great people, organizations, and innovative ideas.”

Phoenix joins Marvin Schenck (President), Loren Madsen (Vice-President), Brandon Kight (Treasurer), Kara Starkweather (Secretary), Susan O. Gordon and Jenn Procacci in their efforts to support the Arts Council’s mission to enrich the quality of life in Mendocino County through promotion of the arts and cultivation of creative communities.
