Artfully devoted to creating community. Over the years, our collaborative efforts meant creative support for many other community priorities with hands-on arts as well as raising over $50,000 for others. My favorite is remains “STONE SOUP”, which we hope to do again in 2018. Mendocino Coast Children’s Fund, Community Center of Mendocino, Noyo Food Forest, Noyo Center for Marine Science, Fort Bragg-Otsuchi Cultural Exchange, Leadership Mendocino, Mendocino Coast Writer’s Conference, MUSE, and Mendocino Film Festival are some of those we’ve worked. And our own Noyo Printworks in Ft. Bragg is another lively addition for community arts. –Erica Harrold, Board Chair for Flockworks flockworks2@gmail.com FLOCKworks facilitates this on-going series of monthly exhibits with painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, photography, fine wood working, and much more.

Here for Poets, Here for dancers, Here for Musicians, Singers and Healers: Intention lives here,  as energetic frequency, within all  actions, here, we are in source.  The Honey Hive dreams of our sacred mother load revealed,  with vivacious  work in the pleasure stream of living true. Intention lives here, rich from network pollination flying through the ether’s, from blossom to blossom, to wisdom gather at ever petal, to share pollen potent, to sing of birds call as they catch the drift. And again we dance around in the sun! And again we gather wisdom at every petal! The Honey Hive of Mendocino is the results of this artist’s dreams.  The intention of creating a place to share source with Transmitters, Healers and Creators.  A library of exchange for sharing  knowledge to offer health to our region, our environment, our “Hive”.  A place for you, you are welcome here! A place to search for answers together,  A place to clarify journey work as more becomes apparent, as more and more whispers are heard, more and more heart songs are sung.                          “.. the epithet of Bee (Melissae) in ancient Greece, applied not only to priestesses, prophetesses, or Goddesses like Demeter and Artemis – it was also bestowed upon poets, musicians, artists and philosophers – anyone touched in some way by divine inspiration.  Priestesses of the Bee: The Melissae By Linda Iles

The Museum is located in Larry Spring’s original storefront at 225 E. Redwood Avenue, Fort Bragg. Currently, the Museum’s aim is to animate Larry Spring’s DIY spirit of amateur inquiry as a means to open up the collection to new possibilities. We imagine the Museum as a constellation of at-hand art and science resources where diverse citizens engage through collaborative, community-based programs.

My name is Sabine Brunner. I am a ceramic artist and mom of 2 toddlers (Luka is 6 and Logan is 4 years old). I studied Graphic Design in Aachen/Germany and for my master thesis I designed a tableware with the whole alphabet from A-Z written in calligraphy. After moving to California in 1996, I started doing Ceramics and became a Ceramic Artist. I love giving my ceramic pieces a whimsical feel. In 2015 my family moved to Little River, CA next to Mendocino from the San Francisco Bay Area. We are living our dream of a rural life with lots of space and many animals. We currently have 3 dogs, 2 cats, 4 goats and 9 chickens. More to come… My work has been influenced by living our dream farm life. I am creating whimsical dishes with lots of different, colorful designs on it. My new studio is also housing an antique Pearl Golding Letterpress. You can come and print your own cards on my Adana 8×5 or take a class. My studio is located in Fort Bragg, California. Come and visit me if you are in the area and take a class in ceramics or printing! 223 East Redwood Ave., Fort Bragg, CA 95437

Our instructors bring years of training, education and professional experience to the classroom. Our ballet students have the chance to perform in our annual “Nutcracker” as well as in original choreography and ballets of favorite fairytales and stories from “Cinderella”, “Alice in Wonderland” and “Peter and the Wolf” to “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, “The Little Mermaid” and more! We also offer the opportunity for our “Art of Classical Ballet” students to participate in a special Cultural Exchange Program with dancers from France. All students have the chance to perform in our annual Spring Showcase featuring Ballet, Jazz, Modern Dance and more! RHODA TEPLOW ARTIST’S STATEMENT Color, color, color plus human interest stories! How can I go wrong?  Beads beg me to pick them up and demand that I make something out of them: earrings, necklaces, and  bracelets. I thrill in combining Tibetan beads with African beads with Japanese and Balinese beads. To know that other hands have labored to make them, hands that have been burnt by the flames, cut by the glass or blackened by the polishing. So much labor is in one bead and so many stories and history are attached to them. I have the privilege and luck to be able to combine them all together to make something beautiful and to travel to foreign countries to collect them.  And what a thrill it is to see a man or woman proudly wearing one of my pieces!  Their personal style enhanced by the beauty of the beads they wear. School of Performing Arts & Cultural Education (SPACE) is an acclaimed afterschool performing arts program serving youth ages infant through 18. SPACE, located near downtown Ukiah at 508 West Perkins, offers an innovative year-round program that has become a vital beacon for hundreds of children and their families. Our program emphasizes diversity, youth leadership, cross-cultual arts, social issues, and exemplary training in the arts. The curriculum may address issues of social, environmental and cultural awareness and activism such as distribution of resources, unlearning racism, gender stereotyping and/or sexual orientation. SPACE’s mission is to empower our youth to discover and trust in their innate ability to be creative, responsible and compassionate individuals through effective training in dance, theater, music and cultural education. After collaborating for ten years directing Performing Arts Summer Camp and other projects, Laurel Near & Paulette Arnold founded Near & Arnold’s School of Performing Arts & Cultural Education in 1995. Both women have been teaching young people since 1981. All our staff are experienced performing arts educators or practicing artists. They are selected for their special ability to relate to young people’s training, social and developmental needs. We are also proud of our “Teacher Training & Youth Leadership Program” which nurtures young people who have the skills and interest to become teachers. A priority of SPACE is the Scholarship Program, which provides access for all interested youth. The community, through fundraising events, donations, and grants, supports the program. Forty percent of families receive some financial assistance for tuition. SPACE functions as a safe space for youth to explore, express and reshape daily challenges through physical, vocal, and emotional creative growth. SPACE has been awarded and recognized by statewide foundations and is a living example of the power of art to affect individuals and change the consciousness and landscape of Mendocino County.
