The Get Arts in the Schools Program is an arts education partnership founded in 2005 by the Arts Council of Mendocino County (ACMC) and the Mendocino County Office of Education (MCOE). GASP funds artist workshops and live performances in Mendocino County schools during the school year. The goal of the program is to infuse the arts in the core curriculum and to deliver quality, educational, curriculum-based artistic experiences to K-12 students throughout Mendocino County.

GASP is a partnership of the Arts Council of Mendocino County and the Mendocino County Office of Education, with additional support of the Community Foundation of Mendocino County’s Hudson Family Fund. Traditionally, the GASP program serves over 3000 students throughout the county, introducing classrooms to professional artists and delivering hands-on visual, performing, literary, interdisciplinary and multimedia arts projects to students at all grade levels.

Experienced arts educators and arts organizations of Mendocino County are encouraged to submit project and guest artist proposals to the Arts Council of Mendocino County using the Grant Guidelines, Artist Application and Teacher Request Form below. The application will be available by September 1, 2023. The deadline to apply is November 1, 2023.

Artists should discuss their projects with classroom teachers in advance of submitting an application to the Arts Council. A Teacher Request Form from the teacher indicating acceptance of the project should accompany the project proposal.
