Tres Souls in concert

With “Bésame mucho” and beyond, Tres Souls, the beloved Los Angeles trio, captures the hearts of audiences one ballad at a time.

The original trio features lead singer Rocío Mendoza—Ukiah’s very own S.P.A.C.E. prodigy, guitarist/vocalist Roberto Carlos, and requinto player and vocalist Jesús Martínez. For their appearance in Ukiah, they will be joined by Ishmael Pineda on percussion and Ray Gudiño on bass in a quintet version of their unique interpretations of the Latino “Bolero” genre and the vintage sounds and songs of the 1940s to 1960s from the Golden Era of Mexican Cinema.

Each member of the group is an accomplished musician who has inherited the knowledge and importance of Mexican heritage music through their family and generations before them. Tres Souls follows in the legendary footsteps of other “Tríos Románticos”, like Eydie Gorme y Los Panchos, Los Tres Reyes, and Los Tres Ases, enlivened with new musical influences drawn from the cultural diversity of the Los Angeles diaspora. The group’s past performances include Walt Disney Studios for the premier of ‘Coco’ the movie, the Music Center 59th Annual Holiday Celebration, in concert with Holly Near, and most recently a sold-out show at The Ford theater in Hollywood.
