Solange Roberdeau will provide a demonstration of Suminagashi, a traditional Japanese printmaking technique.
Suminagashi (which translates to “floating ink”) is the ancient Japanese tradition of ink water marbling.
Solange Roberdeau uses this technique in her own artwork at teaching venues including Kala Art Institute, Berkeley, CA and San Francisco Center for the Book, San Francisco, CA.
This one-hour demonstration will introduce museum visitors to the beauty of this direct and non-toxic craft and give individuals a chance to make their own small print on paper to take home!
