“Strength in Tenderness,” by artist Sue Ellen Parkinson

Northcoast  Artists Gallery is pleased to present “Strength in Tenderness,” by artist Sue Ellen Parkinson, as part of the June First Friday in Fort Bragg. Her show, “Strength in Tenderness,” is focused on paintings of the Sacred Feminine. She is not a traditional icon painter but loves her subject matter. Sue Ellen explains, “My deep feelings of connection with these Beings was unexpected but feels very genuine. Painting them has changed my life. Most of these mystics and saints would have fit in very well here in Mendocino County. They were strong willed individuals who wanted nothing to do with the bureaucracy of the church, or the cultural norms of the day.”

Please join the artist for a First Friday Opening Reception on June 1, from 5 to 8 pm. Refreshments will be served. Northcoast Artists Gallery is open daily from 11am – 5pm.
