For the opening concert of its 31st season, the Symphony of the Redwoods Opus Chamber Music Series is pleased to present two of the Bay Area’s favorite instrumentalists, cellist Hannah Addario-Berry and clarinetist Jeff Anderle. The performance will take place on Sunday, September 16, 3pm at Preston Hall in Mendocino.
Addario-Berry has been delighting music lovers around the world for over a decade. Specializing in chamber music and solo repertoire, she is passionately committed to performing music by living composers. Anderle is a pioneer in the world of low reeds, helping to popularize the role of the modern clarinet and bass clarinet through his innovative and diverse performances, ensembles, and commissions. Their musical collaboration goes back to 2004 when they met as graduate students at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
The 2018-2019 performance season is a special year for the Opus Chamber Music Series. “We are thrilled to take a significant leap from four concerts to eight,” announced Opus Chamber Music president Eva Von Bahr. “The program includes several performers who are new to Opus, as well as some familiar faces, with the return of bass-baritone Matthew Miksak and pianist Carole Barnes.” This year’s Opus program also features local trumpeter James Rodseth and pianist Natsuki Fukasawa.
All Opus Chamber Music concerts will be at Preston Hall, 44867 Main St, Mendocino. Opus season tickets are available now for $155. Advance single concert tickets are available for $22 online at symphonyoftheredwoods.org, at Harvest Market in Fort Bragg and Out of This World in Mendocino.
