Shanti Benoit’s paintings awaken our own mythic memories, dreams, and stories in full color.
“We all create our own stories and myths from personal experiences and life’s mysteries.”
For Shanti, her creativity is fed by memories of the MidWest farms where she grew up: a small house surrounded by a sea of corn, white fences, baby chicks, as well as the bright colors of the rolling hills of her California experiences.
Some of the works feature collaborations with Sev Icks, also long time Mendocino artist shaped by the imagery of the Midwest.
