“Mariko Irie 2018” Watercolor & Oil Paintings

Northcoast Artists Gallery is pleased to present the work of member artist Mariko Irie. She is a lifelong painter, and received her BFA at Musashino Art University in Tokyo in 1973, then studied print making with Robert Rhoades and realism painting with Bill Martin, both at College of the Redwoods in Fort Bragg.

She has been in numerous solo and group shows and received many prizes including; the best award for “Outstanding Visual Artists” at the Museum of the Living Artist in San Diego, and was included in the “California Contemporary Art Collection 2017-2018” at the Capital of California.

Mariko’s paintings are widely represented in collections both public and private throughout the United States, Canada, England, Germany and Japan. She is represented at the Northcoast Artists Gallery in Fort Bragg, the Highlight Gallery in Mendocino, and the Gallery at Glendeven Inn, Little River, California. Please join her at the reception on First Friday, October. 5, 5-8 pm. Refreshments will be served. Mariko will do an Art Talk at 6pm. Following her, a few gallery members will be giving talks about their work, inspiration, and processes in celebration of American Craft Week in Mendocino County.
