Making & Community: A Group Exhibition brings together work by a range of artists – children to adults, who have participated in Northern California artist and educator, Solange Roberdeau’s contemporary craft workshops.
Solange has focused on works that employ suminagashi (Japanese water marbling) or gilding (metal leaf application), this exhibition celebrates the subtle but poignant community network that develops from communicating through craft techniques, the diversity in participants and visual applications, and the beauty in the tacit understanding of materials that is particular to thinking through making.
