On Saturday, September 30th, Comptche Artists will exhibit paintings, sculptures, ceramics and garden art at the Community Hall. The Show, in its 17th year, opens once again after a three year break in tradition, because of the world wide Pandemic. Community members are delighted to participate in the event. Along with No Host Bar, refreshments will be provided and include appetizers, Quesadillas and desserts made by Comptche residents sharing their culinary skills. The afternoon from 2:00 to 6:00, brings treats for the palette as well as the eye.
Over 100 years old, the Comptche Community Hall will benefit from Show sales of the day. It is located 1/4 mile east of the Comptche Post Office and Store, on the Comptche/Ukiah Road. The Hall is the site of weddings and celebrations of life as well as Senior Lunches, art classes and social gatherings acknowledging the seasons and special days of the months. Its redwood walls warmly welcome all comers.

Each September for many years local Comptche Artists and friends have gathered to share Wine and stories celebrating life in Comptche and in central Mendocino county. The Art shown is multimedia including Ceramics from the Flynn Creek Pottery Anagama Kiln, to forged metal, wood furniture to assembled found objects and to a range of painted and drawn images.
We enjoy seeing the year’s production for the artists and tasting the varieties of Wines from many Vintners close to our area. You can purchase or rent a glass, taste multiple Wines of different nuance and subtlety. The artists love to share the how and wherefore of their imagery and materials so we’re able to give a history to the beautiful pieces arrayed for viewing. Come and join in and see for yourself!
