The March show at Northcoast Artists Gallery is “Belly Of The Beast,” showcasing wood fired ceramics by Peter Armusewicz. March 1 – April 3, 2023
Wood firing is an ancient technique which utilizes wood as the sole fuel source inside a brick and mortar kiln.
From Peter: “The large kilns I fire go for an eight day period being consistently stoked by a crew of potters. Within this time someone is always at the kiln tossing wood in the “beast.” Temperatures rise to a soaring 2300 degrees.
