June Dance Party with "The Pulsators"

On Saturday June 3, Bartlett Hall will feature an all-star band from Sonoma County, The Pulsators. This event is part of the Bartlett Hall Dance Party series at 495 Leslie Street in Ukiah from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The Pulsators formed in 1989 and released four albums over the following years. Rooted in the fertile musical soil of the Sonoma County Wine Country the Pulsators are a five-piece band that plays its own brand of music. With a get-up-and-dance kind of orchestration, their music has been defined as a spicy blend of driving blues, New Orleans-funky R&B, rock steady reggae and rock-and-roll. The Pulsators have been voted a Sonoma County fan-favorite four times in reader’s choice polls given by The Press Democrat.

They have played numerous shows with the Neville Brothers in Louisiana and California, including the House of Blues in Hollywood and the Fillmore in San Francisco. The band has been billed with such artists as Bob Dylan, Little Feat, Chris Isaac, Al Green, Taj Mahal, The Radiators, Buddy Guy and B.B.King.

The band consists of Johnny Campbell, Singer-songwriter and drummer, Doug “Ian” McKenzie, Blues purist on guitar, Mick Whittington on bass and vocals, John Farey on keyboards, Glenn Sullivan, Big Guns on trumpet, vocals and percussion, and Rick “Froggy” Clifford on saxophone.

Gourmet appetizer platter assortments with decadent desserts will be included in the price of admission.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door and are available at Mendocino Book Company, 102 south School Street in Ukiah and at the USC Administration Office, 499 Leslie Street, Ukiah and at www.ukiahseniorcenter.org.
