Welcome to the wonderful world of wheel-throwing! The potter’s wheel is a beautiful and mesmerizing tool. A skilled potter will make throwing look effortless, but anyone who has given it a try knows it is anything but. In this four-week class you’ll learn the foundations of the potter’s wheel. If you’re brand new to throwing or looking to get back into your practice this class is the perfect place to start. We’ll teach you the best techniques for every step of the potter’s wheel from wedging clay to trimming. The exercises and practices will establish solid foundations that will keep you learning and growing for years to come.

For an additional fee, the studio will be open for students for one hour after class and “open studio” time on Saturdays, 10am–2pm. Please call the Mendocino Art Center Registrar to reserve: 707.937.5818 x10.
