Sofia Alaoui HOLICLAY ceramics classes at Willits Center for the Arts

The holidays are right around the corner! With this ceramics class, students will make gifts for their loved ones. Students will have the option to choose what they will be creating.

Sofia will be available to assist, give demos and help find techniques to bring ideas to life. Prompts Will be provided for each class such as making hanging planter pots, incense trays, mugs and pour overs, candle stick holders, soap dishes, and earrings and beads.

this will be a hand-building class open to beginners and advanced students

6 weeks: Saturdays October 16 through November 20, 2021

11am-4pm

fee $260 + cost of clay and glaze.

Sofia Alaoui’s work is largely inspired by antiques her mother collected when she was a child in the Midwest and nature that surrounded them. She uses raw clay bodies and multiple clay colors to highlight the natural beauty of the vessels she makes. she is constantly in awe that by using earth, water and fire we can make something we will use everyday.
