This workshop will cover the basics of mold making from selecting an object, setting up your mold, to mixing and pouring plaster. Katie Applebaum will demonstrate proper plaster mixing, how to “read” undercuts and determine what is an appropriate model for a plaster mold.
Since not every object will not be appropriate to make a 2-part mold from, Katie will contact students ahead of the workshop to help determine the best object to bring in to cast. Alternatively, we will have a selection of suitable objects to choose from during the workshop.
This workshop is beginner-friendly, and open to all levels. No previous clay or plaster experience is necessary.
