An audition for the play “Moon Over Buffalo” will be held at the Willits Community Theatre on Saturday, July 15 at 3pm.
Directed by Bill Barksdale, the classic Broadway comedy by Ken Ludwig has three roles still available: two men aged 20 to 35, and one woman aged 20 to 35. The roles include Eileen, an up and coming actress who has had an affair with aging matinee idol George Hay. Her pregnancy by George sets off a series of comic events that resolves with a happy ending. The other role are for Paul, a sassy and sophisticated actor and theatre producer, and Howard, a television weatherman who thinks he’s in “show business”.
Veteran director Barksdale has a long string of hits for WCT over the past 23 years, including “The Haunting of Hill House”, “Barefoot in the Park”, “On Golden Pond”, “Dead Man’s Cell Phone”, and “Blithe Spirit”.
Rehearsals for “Moon Over Buffalo” begin August 1 and the play will run for ten performances from November 3-19. For further information, contact Bill Barksdale at 459-1200 or at 489-2322.
