Want to see more public art in Mendocino County and, specifically, in Ukiah, the County Seat?
Bravo Ukiah! Tonight the City Council unanimously approved a Public Art Policy! What does this mean for all of us? Now there is a procedure in place by which artwork may be exhibited either permanently or temporarily on public property. Previous requests were either flat out denied or routed through inappropriate channels, treating art as “signage” for example. This is a big victory for public art.
Thank you to the artists and art supporters who bravely stood in support of public art Wednesday evening.
