Slow Season with Ozone BBQ

Slow Season with Ozone BBQ

Presented by Arena Theater at Arena Theater

With their second full-length album, “Mountains,” released on RidingEasy Record, the Central California hard rock band Slow Season, comprised of Daniel Rice (vocals, guitar), David Kent (guitar), Hayden Doyel (bass), and Cody Tarbell (drums) scales new heights, while recognizing where it all began. It could very well be the sixties, seventies, or now. “I’d love for people to wonder if this record is actually from 1969,” grins Cody.

It almost doesn’t matter though because this is hypnotic, heavy, and howling rock’n roll that defies both musical and temporal categorization. Influenced by Toad, Budgie, Led Zeppelin, Canned Heat, James Brown, Funkadelic, Delaney and Bonnie, and Neil Young, Slow Season first emerged in 2012 with their self-titled debut. Supported by shows throughout California and nationally, they began to garner palpable buzz. Now, “Mountains” kicks off their next chapter. Ozone Barbeque is inspired by the legendary sounds of Link Ray, The Lively Ones, Dick Dale and even The Melvins, cooking up a hard rocking set that will open up your ears and get you on your feet. Steve Reaves on Bass drives the most challenging rhythms with perfect sound and tempo while Michael Burton on guitar brings the best sounds of classic surf guitar combined with a modern genius and flair. Add the creative strength and versatility of Chris Campbell on drums, and this is a surf rock power trio with a lot of style that’s not to be missed.

The show is underwritten by Premier Glass and Cabinet, Kevin Hewitt, J. Schmidt Construction and Positive Interior Concepts.

The Arena Theater bar and snack stand will be open.
