Eight Rude family artists exhibit paintings, collage, sculpture, fiber arts, printmaking, metalsmithing and enameling.
The idea for the Rude family’s “Rude Awakening” show came about when one of the family members realized how many artists are in the family, and imagined how fun it would be to have a group show. Eight artists in the family – Bill Zindel, Frances Rude, Glenn Rude, Lea Rude, Reuben Rude, Roberta Tewes, Sunshine Taylor and Thomas Rude (it could be called “A Rude-Zindel-Tewes-Taylor Family Show,” but they shortened it to Rude) – are showing their work, which includes painting, collage, sculpture, fiber arts, printmaking, metalsmithing and enameling. The exhibition showcases three generations of the family, most with close ties to the Mendocino Coast and the Mendocino Art Center.
