Howard Wheatley Allen Bronze Bird Collection

Howard Wheatley Allen Bronze Bird Collection

Presented by Mendocino Art Center at Mendocino Art Center

Twenty-two of internationally renowned sculptor Howard Wheatley Allen’s bronze birds, featured in his book, “Howard Wheatley Allen: Sculptor to Emperors, Presidents and Kings,” will be exhibited in the Mendocino Art Center’s Nichols Gallery.

The sculptural works will be accompanied by Rosemary Allen’s paintings. Allen has achieved international acclaim for his bronze bird sculptures. His work, chosen for its strength, grace and symbolic content, has found its way into public, private, and corporate collections around the world. Allen’s sculptures have been chosen by world leaders to commemorate important events. Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton are among those who have presented Allen’s sculptures as gifts to heads of state. Ray and Donna Worster donated the collection to the Mendocino Art Center.
