MCAA presents Antoinette von Grone, the second in a series of “Meet the Artist” at the Grace Hudson Museum.
Antoinette will talk about how she became a fine art artist through, or despite, studying textile and fashion design and how she ended up in Boonville. She will speak about the different styles and subjects and techniques in which she works and what the background is to those choices. She will bring some original paintings and will share her portfolios.
Antoinette was born and raised in a village in Northern Germany that has been her family’s home for over 500 years. She studied art in Germany, Austria, and Paris, France, culminating in an internship with Hermes-Paris. A stint of teaching batik and weaving at Club Med in Morocco ultimately led to starting her own freelance design studio in Hamburg, Germany. Eventually she moved to California where she started to experiment with other media making the transition to paintings and murals with many shows in galleries and private homes.
