Willow Solow Photography Exhibition

The mission of my photography is easy in concept:

Be a voice for nature, and share the wonder and awe of the natural world.

It is a basic goal, and it is nevertheless pressing and difficult in spirit.

Nature has no voice of its own. The plants and animals sharing our world beg for empathy now more than ever.
With these photos, I want to-
•    Use perspective, photography’s simple power, to assist your empathy for our trees, insects, and birds.
•    Inspire your curiosity.
•    Take you out of your office, car, social circle, and busy mind, reminding you that there is majesty and truth under every fallen leaf.
•    Show the inherent value that nature holds for anyone who stops, looks, and listens.

All of these photos are from Mendocino and the surrounding areas of Northern California.

Lastly, I wish for my photos to serve as a sort of Reverse Escapism. Rather than pulling one out of the real world into the imaginary, I want to drag us away from the world that we humans have created for ourselves, to remind us of the world that we are really in.

WILLOW SOLOW is a photographer who has lived across the U.S. West Coast for the last 8 years. He is in love with the Pacific Northwest, and works as a freelance photographer and web designer in Portland, Oregon and Northern California.
