Corner Gallery 201 S State St Sid Greenup Sid has this to say about his art: My career was in metallurgy. Fabrication, machining design engineering and product development. Through my life I’ve dabbled with many mediums of art expressions, painting, carving wood, casting cement etc. Manipulating metal has been my favorite. Stainless, copper and mild steel are my canvases. Trying to create something new and different, “unique” has been my purpose. I think I achieved that in this present group of pieces that I am presenting.

Bona Marketplace 116 W Standley Street “Vita di Vetro” (Life of Glass) My love for glass is as natural as the forms my art often takes. Since my earliest days the glass blowing process of using fire to achieve sculpture has fascinated my spirit. The pursuit of mastering an art form, both ancient and modern, has tantalized my Mind. The torment of failing a piece and the energetic elation of executing a new technique has been a blessing to my body. Constantly inspired by the array of beautiful lifeforms across nature, I feel most successful when my glass pieces become alive with color and personality. From ocean dwelling beasts, to birds of flight, and reptilian lifeforms in between I aim to bring my own version of a simple beauty to the world. I am honored to be considered and am proud to present “Vita Di Vetro” (Life of Glass) at Bona Marketplace in Ukiah. -Ben Lukas Ben Lukas Has been studying glass since 2004 when he purchased his first glassblowing starter kit at the age of 17. Armed with a ‘how-to make beads’ book and a small studio space in his Ukiah back yard a whimsical Lukas set out on a journey that would forever change the lens of his perspective. Since finishing a Studio Art Degree at California State University, Chico, Ben has opened his own store ‘Tsunami’s Glass Shop’ in the Train Depot Mall in Fort Bragg. You can find him blowing glass in downtown Fort Bragg Thursday through Monday 10-5. “It’s amazing continuing the legacy of glass blowing in the downtown mall started 25 years ago”

Moonstone Holistic Living 104 N School Street A native of San Francisco, Elias found himself an early resident of Mendocino County when his parents sold
their home in the Bernal Heights neighborhood, for the peace and seclusion of
Redwood Valley. Early members of the Buddhist community in Talmage, Elias gives a great deal of credit to his parents for inspiring a life long love for the arts. “My Father Robert was a draftsman and professional photographer when I was young, some of my first memories are of helping him in his darkroom, watching images appear under a red lightbulb.” He also gives his mother Fran credit for “doing everything in her power to instill in me a love for classical music and fine art,” including early childhood trips to the Operahouse in San Francisco. Elias also credits the works of M.C. Escher, Hieronymus Bosch, and H.R. Geiger, who designed the set of the original “Alien” movies as his primary artistic inspirations. “I’ve always been deeply affected by powerful works of art…as a child, it was easy to lose myself for hours studying colors, forms, and textures…” Elias describes his art as “experimental abstract” and tries to explore the relationship between the seen, and the Unseen. “As an abstract artist, I chose to limit my own personal influence upon my audience, and instead, allow the
paints to create the image.” Although his art could be described as “psychedelic,” he states that he “tries to create on the canvas a sense of refined chaos, and not limit myself to a single genre” In addition to painting, Elias also has a deep passion for ornamental horticulture, and is actively studying and attending Mendocino College in the hopes of acquiring his Landscape Design certificate in the near future. A devoted father of 3 boys, one of whom, Ezra, has recently made the journey to adulthood after graduating High School locally in Ukiah.Besides painting and gardening, Elias is also a self-trained musician, who says that his favorite musical pastime is “fiddling with analog synthesizers.”An animal lover as well, Elias and his boys maintain a small
flock of 9 chickens, “down from 13 due to a pesky Bobcat” he plans on safely
catching and relocating in the near future. In addition to his hens, he is also the adopted owner of 4 cats and 3 rescue Pitty’s, all of whom get along splendidly. As a way to give back to the agency that had connected him with so many of his beloved pets, Elias proudly donates 10% of all sales to the Anderson Valley Animal Rescue society!
