DANCE AND MUSIC PERFORMANCES AT DANCING DOG LOFT

SUNSET IN WINTER includes original dance, music, and text. Additional participants are local dance and theatre artists Debira Branscomb, Emily McPhail, Ariel Pons, Jamie McHugh and Lavender Grace on February 9, 10, 11.  On February 16, 17, and 18 they will be joined by noted Bay Area soprano Carrie Hennessey.

Ann Woodhead and Jason Sherbundy are longtime collaborators who worked together most recently as Stage Director and Musical Director of the 2017 Mendocino Music Festival’s acclaimed production of the opera DON PASQUALE.

Ann is an award-winning dancer, choreographer, actor, and director. She had her own dance company for 20 years, and toured nationally and internationally as a dance soloist in original work. Here on the Coast she is best known as an actor and director with the Mendocino Theatre Company, for which she performed as Dr. Ruth Westheimer in the one-woman play BECOMING DR. RUTH in 2016. After ten years as a dancer and choreographer in San Francisco, Ann moved to Sonoma County, where she taught dance and choreography at Sonoma State University. She relocated to Westport in 2003, and in 2009 opened her movement studio, Dancing Dog Loft, where she teaches Functional Movement regularly, and performs occasionally.

Jason is a pianist, conductor, composer, arranger, and orchestrator. He has worked in opera and musical theater and with orchestras, choirs, and jazz ensembles. After years of being part of the Bay Area music scene, he worked for over a decade on professional musical theatre shows, including shows on North American tours and three years on Broadway. He has appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, and worked both on- and off-screen on the NBC-TV show SMASH. Currently Jason lives in Santa Cruz, and plays piano with the Santa Cruz and Merced Symphony orchestras, the Berkeley Community Chorus and Orchestra, Espressivo Orchestra, and Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre. He and soprano Carrie Hennessey are now collaborating on a series of vocal/piano recitals.
