Open studio is intended for novice-to-experienced papermakers who have specific ideas or goals for paper production at our facility.  LCCM staff will be on hand for consultation and assistance for every step of the process.

Suggested uses for the open studio class include:  processing/preparation of either LCCM-provided or student-provided papermaking materials (cooking, rinsing, beating, pigmenting, straining, pressing, drying, etc.), sheet formation for art editions or books, large-format sheet formation, pulp printing, or any other creative technique one is interested in pursuing.

We ask that artists and students interested in attending Open Studio first complete a Basic Papermaking class with us.  This can be done all in the same day.  Please contact us regarding your ideas to determine the cost and preparation of materials.

Tuition is due at time of registration. Space is limited but a waiting list is available. If you cannot attend & let us know at least one week prior AND we fill your spot from the waiting list, we will refund your tuition less a $30 processing fee, OR give you full credit toward a future class.
