ACMC Programs

MyersACW American Craft Week is a nation-wide celebration of handmade American crafts and the artists who make them.  To celebrate American Craft Week locally, galleries, studios and businesses throughout Mendocino County open their doors with special shows, events, and demonstrations featuring a vast array of beautiful handmade crafts produced here in Mendocino County.

Mendocino County Celebrates American Craft Week was incubated in its first year (2011) by the Arts Council of Mendocino County and is now an independent festival coordinated by craft artists and businesses. 2012 Sponsors of Mendocino County Celebrates American Craft Week are: Mendocino County Lodging Association, the Savings Bank of Mendocino County, and the Arts Council of Mendocino County.

Mendocino Stories and Music Series presents “ The Mixed Nuts” on Saturday, October 8 at the Hill House of Mendocino. The band plays an unexpected collection of swing, Latin, and jazz tunes from the 40's to the present. With songs ranging from the works of Hoagie Carmichael to Lou Reed and Mongo Jerry, the emphasis is on a seriously goofy time. The music will start at 7:30 pm.This musical project was originally the brainchild of Dan Albrecht who, in this group, plays piano and sings. He is joined by Steve Paul on trumpet, vocals, steel pan and banjo; Paul Schulman on congas; Daney Dawson on acoustic upright bass; and Chad Swimmer on drums and percussion.

All Ages Welcome! Doors open at 6:30 PM for bistro menu and drinks. Sliding scale $10 – 15 as you can afford. Call Pattie at 937-1732 or www.mendocinostories.com/events.
