Susan Bearden graduated from the UC Berkeley, with a Bachelor of Science degree. While at Berkeley her art instruction included classes with Elmer Bischoff and Sylvia Lark. She also studied Biological Illustration in the Entomology Department while at Cal.
She attributes her love of fine arts to her mother, Mendocino County artist, Francine Bearden, and father Bruce Bearden.
