Art
Explorers, Inc. is a creative arts program that addresses
the basic human need for self-expression. Founded to serve

where participants will find the freedom of personal expression
and individual growth through the visual arts and will learn
new skills while experiencing a variety of artistic mediums.

Students
can choose to work with a variety of nontoxic art materials.
They are encouraged to set their own goals for the course
and are responsible for evaluating their experience at the
end of each three month session. Participants are responsible
for helping to setup and clean up art materials.
Exhibitions
of work produced at Art Explorers are arranged in the community,
including annual shows at The Bookstore and The Savings Bank
in Fort Bragg. Every piece of art sold benefits the program
as well as the participants.
Students
can build their vocational skills through participation in
Art Exploreres both directly and indirectly. The opportunity
that the visual arts provide for enhanced self-esteem, improved
communication, greater confidence and overall sense of well-being
relate not only to an individual's vocational success but
to success in all areas of life.
