Russ is a long time resident of Mendocino County. His work in the multimedia field started when the word was first used. His career in the field started as a desktop publisher and was at one time the editor of the Mendocino College Newspaper, the Eagle. In the past, Russ taught in Anderson Valley at the Rancharia High School as well as for the Adult School Program. and he was the Director of the Multimedia Program for Marin Academy's Summer School Program. Russ has worked in the CD-ROM gaming industry and was the project manager for the game, WATERWAZE. WATERWAZE is a popular game used in all Sonoma County Schools to teach elementary school students about the importance of our environment and the water we drink. WATERWAZE was an Invision Award winner. Find out more about WATERWAZE here.

When not teaching, Russ is involved in the production of websites. He is the website Project Manager for the Arts Council of Mendocino County. While in the past his work was in the commercial area producing sites for numerous companies such as the Hopland Inn (formally the Thatcher Inn), the Pacific Star Winery and Husch Vineyards, he now works mostly in the environmental, social and educational area. He helped in the production of Journey Across America, a site built to raise money for the disabled. He has just finished work on the Rancharia High School website as well as a site for Voices of the Valley. Currently he is developing sites for the Navarro Watershed Working Group and the
Ukiah Valley Smart Growth Coalition.
