About Green Apples

Green Apples combines acrobatic, aerial and dance elements for a stunning, dance-circus fusion. Featuring trapeze, aerial hoop, and group acrobatics through a well conceived contemporary dance, the company explores ‘discovery’ with both humor and sensitivity. The work is book-ended with San Francisco companies Eat Cake Productions and Ethaerial Arts.

Under the guidance of co-choreographers Kara Morris and Blaze Birge, 12 community members from all over Mendocino County have been training and rehearsing since January 2007. “This is a truly unique and artistically risky project.  We’ve taken raw talent and molded it into a professional dance company over the course of 9 months,” said Kara, the dance company’s founder. Ranging from a myriad of backgrounds, the members have dedicated themselves to a grueling physical regime in order to achieve their goals. “This is the most ambitious project to date that Flynn Creek Circus has been involved in.  I’ve been impressed by the startlingly beautiful and complex movement that’s been created. We’re really looking forward to sharing this with the community,” said Blaze, Creative Director for Flynn Creek Circus.

Green Apples show times are Friday, October 5 at 8pm and Saturday, October 6 at 3pm and 8 pm.
