Whales
on Parade
Whales
swim, of course. Who knew they could parade? Well,
you can expect "Whales on Parade" in Fort Bragg
March 18-19, 2006. Fifty whales, cut from wood and decorated
by Mendocino County artists, will be on display throughout
Fort Bragg on Saturday, March 18, 2006. Silent auction bids
may be made at the Mendocino Coast Chamber of Commerce,
332 N. Main St. between 9A-3P Saturday. The silent
auction will continue Sunday, March 19, 2006 when the whales go
on display at the Town Hall.
"Whales on Parade" is a fundraiser benefit for
the Arts Council of Mendocino County, Kiwanis Club of Fort
Bragg, and the Mendocino Coast Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds
from the sale of the whales will benefit these three non-profit
community organizations.
Since artists may elect to receive 50% of the sale price
of their whale when it is sold at auction, this is also
an economic development opportunity for Mendocino County
artists. Take home a whimsical piece of art and support
your local artists while also helping fund important activities
of non-profit organizations in the community.
For more information about the "Whales on Parade"
event, please contact the Mendocino Coast Chamber of Commerce
