The Arts Council Announces New Board Appointments

The Arts Council Announces New Board Appointments and Members Mendocino resident Linda Prial was recently appointed as president, Ukiah resident David Hance as vice president, and Ukiah resident Trudy McCreanor and Covelo resident Jan Bennett were welcomed as the Arts Council's newest board members.

Linda replaced founding chair, Michael Addison. While remaining on the board, Michael stepped down from his role as president in order to focus his attention on his current responsibilities with the Anderson Valley Education Foundation, the Anderson Valley School Board, and to attend to new responsibilities with family business interests in Southern California.

"Michael has performed a vital service for Mendocino County,” Linda said. “His vision was crucial to the creation of the Arts Council, and his leadership and wisdom as board president for the past four years has provided remendous support for the county's arts community. I will work very hard to live up to the high standards he has set for the ACMC."

Prior to joining the Arts Council board in 2002, Linda served eight years on the board of the Mendocino Music Festival including five years as president, 1990-1991, 1998-2000. In addition to her duties as president of the Arts Council, Linda currently chairs the Mendocino County Cultural Plan project.

Board member David Hance is an actor, singer, past Board President of Ukiah Player’s Theatre, and co-owner of Rainmaker Marketing LLC. Board member Trudy McCreanor is a former professional ballet dancer and current Artistic and Executive Director of the Mendocino Ballet in Ukiah. And board member Jan Bennett is Vice Chair of the Eel River Charter School Board and Executive Director of the Round Valley Community Theater. Arts Council executive director Anna Kvinsland said, “It’s a pleasure to work with such a talented and committed group of individuals.
