New Art Book Featuring Paintings By Local Artist Kevin Milligan

A Painted Pictorial features more than 70 of Kevin Milligan’s evocative paintings of build-ings and streets in the present-day village of Mendocino, Cali-fornia. The accompanying historical and cultural text provides a vivid portrait of the town when it was a bustling redwood lumber port called Mendocino City, as well as its evolution into an artist’s community.

Kevin Milligan, a fourth-generation artist, has been painting since age seven. His works are exhibited at regional and national levels, where they have received awards and highly favorable reviews. In particular, his work has been selected for the 49th Annual Butler Mid-year National Exhibition of American Art and the Maryland Academy of Arts National Exhibition. His cityscape "Oakland Skyline with the Grand Lake Thea-ter" will be shown in the 20th Century Urban Land-scape Exhibition at the Oakland Museum in 2003.

Kevin most enjoys painting on site in fields, back streets and vineyards around the county. He currently lives in Mendocino, and his Coastside Gallery may be found on the ground floor of a water tower built in the 1960s on Lansing Street.

A Painted Pictorial will be available at Coastside Gallery & Graphics on Lansing St. in Mendocino Village late this summer. For more information contact Kevin Milligan at (707) 937-4960 or visit www.coastsidegallery.com.
