Writers Read presents Roberta Werdinger

Born and raised in a suburb of Chicago, Roberta Werdinger came to California in 1977 in order to find herself. In the ensuing near-forty years, she found and then lost herself many times, meanwhile uncovering new selves which she also lost, re-found or redesigned. She has been or currently is a Zen monk, a poet and essayist, an English teacher, a professional writer and editor, a music programmer, and a Ukiah and Willits resident. She has received an Academy of
American Poets award, has twice been invited to the Bread Loaf conference in Vermont, and has published work in the Redwood Coast Review and Leaping Clear, among others. She is at work on a memoir.
