Award: 3-person exhibition May, 2018 at Partners Gallery, Fort Bragg, California. The intention of Weather is to interest artists whose work addresses the issues related to heat, dryness, sunshine, wind, rain, snow, or the affects of a change in season.
The juror, Kate Eilertsen is currently an art consultant and guest curator. She consults with individuals and organizations such as Fort Mason Center for the Arts, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, Creative Sonoma, Voigt Family Sculpture Foundation, and Kenwood Vineyards among others.
She was executive director of Sonoma Valley Museum of Art from 2008-2016, was acting director of visual arts at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts from 2007-2009, executive director of the Museum of Craft and Folk Art from 2004-2007, and was associate dean and director of community engagement at the San Francisco Art Institute from 2000-2004.
Eligibility: Original work completed within the last two years; paintings, mixed media, sculpture, photography, or original prints.. No video, installation, jewelry, or functional ware. Only artists 18 years of age or older residing in California are eligible.
Specifications: Maximum dimensions of a single work will not exceed 60″ and must be suitably framed/wired ready for installation. Sculptures may not weigh in excess of 100 lbs. Image and frame size must be included in dimensions, and weight for sculpture must be specified.
Delivery: Selected works for exhibition must be hand delivered in excellent condition and ready to be installed on Monday, April 30, 2018 by 5:00 pm. Accepted entires may not be removed during the exhibition. Artists must pick up unsold work by 4:00 pm Sunday, May 27, 2018.
Publicity: Partners Gallery will exhibit the selected artists’ work on the Partners Gallery website and will publicize the show with an email announcement, printed exhibition cards, and press releases to appropriate publications
